Lina’s Acting Debut!

Lina opened the show this year with Orangvale Open’s production of “Tigger and Roo’s Adventure”!

Kevin’s Wedding

Another Gaucho gets married!

So, one of Paul’s good friends from college got married and Paul was the best man.

The wedding was held in Capitola which is right on the beach near Santa Cruz. The gaucho crew all rented a beach house and had a great old time.

Fall Sports!

It still feels like summer with temps in the 90’s and higher but school has started and the new schedule is in high gear.

Dahlia is following in her parents footsteps and is now a cyclist!  Well, sort of.  She does love to ride around on her bike while mom and dad chase her around hoping to catch her if she falls off.

Lina and her friends from school have been planning their soccer careers for almost a year now (we had to sign-up last year) and now the games have begun!  Her first tournament was last weekend and they played great!  The Wildcats lost 0-2 in the first game and tied 1-1 in the second.  It was over 100 degrees that day but the girls played hard and had lots of fun.

First Day of 1st Grade!

Getting up early for the first time in months
Stomach with butterflies while packing my lunch

Finger nails sparkly with pixie dust 
Trying to brush my teeth with little sister is a bust 

Hair in a braid and new bling in my ears
Going to school for a whole day is a kind of weird!

New teacher, new children, who will I know?
Better pack my Horse, Bubble Gum, just in case I’m ever alone

When I get to the playground I see old friends and new
I’m feeling more relaxed and confident too

We enter our classroom, looking all around, I find my name tag and a place to sit down

 

 

Circle time, recess, work, then lunch
I’ll sit with new first grade friends while I munch

At the end of the day Mom and Sis pick me up,

They ask how it went and I say, “It was long and I’m tired.  Can I play on the playground with Billy? We want to play Super Heros.”

Bed Monsters

There’re two monsters sleeping in my bed

Lina’s 6th Birthday

A six-girl sleepover, cake, ice cream, ear piercing, presents, pizza, dressing up, a magic show, Hannah Montana, fairies, mermaids, princesses, Hello Kitty,  CORALINE, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Mikuni’s…. what a weekend!  For anyone curious, the girls went to bed at midnight and were up at 6:23 am.  Good Times!

Everyone had a super fun time at the party.
