First Day of 1st Grade!

Getting up early for the first time in months
Stomach with butterflies while packing my lunch

Finger nails sparkly with pixie dust 
Trying to brush my teeth with little sister is a bust 

Hair in a braid and new bling in my ears
Going to school for a whole day is a kind of weird!

New teacher, new children, who will I know?
Better pack my Horse, Bubble Gum, just in case I’m ever alone

When I get to the playground I see old friends and new
I’m feeling more relaxed and confident too

We enter our classroom, looking all around, I find my name tag and a place to sit down

 

 

Circle time, recess, work, then lunch
I’ll sit with new first grade friends while I munch

At the end of the day Mom and Sis pick me up,

They ask how it went and I say, “It was long and I’m tired.  Can I play on the playground with Billy? We want to play Super Heros.”

Bed Monsters

There’re two monsters sleeping in my bed
There’re two monsters sleeping in my bed
They’ve got great big eyes, and two little teeny heads
There’re two monsters sleeping in my bed!
I’m scared, I want to sleep with YOU!

Lina’s 6th Birthday

A six-girl sleepover, cake, ice cream, ear piercing, presents, pizza, dressing up, a magic show, Hannah Montana, fairies, mermaids, princesses, Hello Kitty,  CORALINE, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Mikuni’s…. what a weekend!  For anyone curious, the girls went to bed at midnight and were up at 6:23 am.  Good Times!

Everyone had a super fun time at the party.

… and lot’s of pictures were taken of course…

Paul’s 20 Year High School Reunion

The Red Lion Inn in Sacramento was rockin’ with class of 1989 from Woodland High in the house.  We had a great time visiting with old friends that we haven’t seen in very long time.

Grandma and grandpa Rebstock came to the house to watch the kids so we could stay overnight in the hotel for the full experience, which means we were up late and had headaches in the morning by our own choice instead of from being up all night with the kids.

We brought the camera with us but unfortunately left it in the hotel room.  (It’s a nice camera but just too large to tote around all the time!)  Luckily, we snapped a few pics at our pre-party at the Morrow’s place.

Lina’s first soccer practice

Lina loses her first tooth

Lina lost her first tooth today.  It was a long a dramatic few weeks of special “soft” foods and super gentle tooth brushes but the tooth finally came out.
